Matthew Underwood

Minister of Experimentation

Matthew Underwood, Minister of Experimentation, received his BFA in Electronic Arts at the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University. His interdisciplinary practice is influenced by the ways in which information is changed by the process of interpretation and translation. Actively exploiting and bringing out accidental artifacts that emerge from these mediations, his work resides between minimalism and maximalism. Matt enjoys spending his summers in the womb of western New York, teaching at the Experimental Television Center International Student Residency. His guilty pleasures include playing Scrabble, watching C-SPAN, and unwinding to gospel music.
